an open letter

To: the "former fans" who feel that everything in your life is so horrible because of being a Good Charlotte fan and you're 'so glad' to not be a fan anymore.
From: me. the boring 25 year old who happens to be a fan of Good Charlotte.
Good Charlotte is a group of 5 guys who make music. period. They're human just like you and me.
They make the music they want to and whether or not you like the music is up to you. No one forces you to listen. No one makes you buy the albums or go to the concerts. It's purely your choice.
They have never claimed to be "punk" or "rock" or "pop" or what-the-fuck ever else you want to call them. The music is the music, take it for what it is. It doesnt have to be stuck in a genre unless you're stocking shelves at FYE.
They don't determine whats "hip" or "popular" or "trendy". They don't tell you how to dress, how to act or how to live your life.
I promise you they really don't care if you wear a MADE shirt to school on a Tuesday or Level 27 on Friday.
They have more than once thanked the fans for their support and have never said anything to the contrary. Just because your sister's boyfriend's former roommate "met" Joel and he was a little cranky doesn't mean "Oh Em Gee they hAtE There FAnZ!" The boy may have had heartburn.
So before you go blaming Good Charlotte for everything that is "so wrong" in your life and calling us all "un-original" for being fans, take a look in the mirror, do your english homework and get over yourself.
oh yeah, and having piercings and dyed hair does not mean you're trying to be 25. Take it from a 25 year old, if we have real jobs we can't do that shit.
And just for the record, being a Joel and Benji fan does not mean I expect to marry one of them. I'm happily engaged thank you.

I really wish we could, I'd work at Hot Topic just to do it except that all of the people that work there in the four stores I shop at anoy me to no end and they pay shit.
Thankfully Best Buy lets me do my hair blue and hasn't said much about the tongue ring

Date: 2004-12-15 08:08 am (UTC)I know where you're coming from and I wholeheartedly agree.
Except for the part that you're boring. Which you're totally not. You're spunky, outgoing, funny, and that's why I love you so much!
People just need to get over themselves. Ugh.
