Yeah so two of my favourite people (favourite in the way that I've never actually met them in person) have a birthday today. not just a birthday but their 25th birthday. so I'm taking this moment to say:
Happy 25th Benji and Joel
it's kinda crazy to me that I've gotten so drawn up in Good Charlotte. I vowed after nsync I was never getting 'involved' again. then these two showed up.
I had heard of the group not long after they came out. I even bought the first CD not long after it came out but never paid an over abundant amount of attention to them. I knew I liked the music - the cd was on the top of my 'listen to these for music i dont know all the words' pile of CDs.
then Chris was in the video for Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. a lightbulb went off in my head and I figured out that I had heard these guys before - and really liked them. So I waited paintently for the next album and started to do a little research.
I still laugh at myself when I remember figuring out that Benji and Joel were twins. I really had no idea. I knew the group's music but I didnt even know the guys names let alone which one was which. I looked up what I could find on Joel first - because he's the first one I noticed (the stars didnt hurt that any). I admit I might have squeed a little when I realized he was born 2 days after me. I wont have trouble remembering how old he is. :) Once I had the basics down on him I moved on to Benji. I completely missed the fact that they had the same last name at first, I jumped right to the birthday and went "wait a minute, him and Joel were born the same day". Then I started laughing. Duh hello! after I stopped crying from laughing so hard I kept reading.
Seeing Benji and Joel at Challenge for the Children last summer I think completely sealed the deal. The only person I paid more attention to than them was Chris (for obvious reasons). I wanted nothing more than to pin Joel down and chew on those stars on his shoulders. It was perfect - all of my guys together in the same place.
and I'm even going to warped tour - I think that proves I've lost it :)
so now here I am. addicted to yet another band. and another couple guys who I think are absolutely amazing.
happy birthday you two. thanks for pulling me in.
