dreamtrance: (*Joel - this is rock and roll)
Holy crap its been a long time since I've been in here. Its kind of funny .. and I mean funny in an ironic sense, not in the hah hah you so funny way. I have this tendency when I'm doing something random and mundane, usually like driving to work, to actually write out a journal entry in my head. It ends up fully formed as if I were actually writing it out, completely with silly words and comments and typos. Okay maybe not the typos but close enough. I do this a couple times a week, just randomly in my head and yet as soon as I get to a computer or something to where I could actually write it down the entry is completely gone for my head. Usually because I get distracted by something else. I have little attention span and apparently it has decided updating my journal is one of those things that only occurs to me when I'm nowhere near somewhere to do that. This is my attempt to at least once manage to get everything down before I get distracted too badly.

Man I'm not even sure what to talk about. Isn't that always the problem? There's something intimidating about a blank, or semi-blank screen. Well that and the whole 'holy crap I haven't updated in forever!' but I already mentioned that part so .. moving on.

The house is coming along nicely. When I bought it the second floor was nothing but open attic space. No insulation or really anything up there. Starting in ... I think it was the middle of March, dad and I have been working on finishing that space and turning it into a bedroom suite. And we're almost there. Everything is done except for carpet. The space is fucking awesome. Its something like 300 square feet with a walk in closet and another 10 foot closet. There's a second of space across from the stairs that's going to be nothing but shelves. The walls we painted bright blue and I even sponge painted clouds. Once the carpet is down I have to get the final inspection by the building inspector then we can move in! Man I so can't wait its fucking awesome. I'm gonna steal my dad's digital camera so I can get some pictures to show cuz it's just way cool. I am very excited and it'll be crazy nice to get to finally unpack all of our clothes and other such things. This does mean I have to actually unpack those things. We'll see how that goes. Heh.

There are a million more house projects but I'm learning that comes with owning a house. We already re-did the bathroom and painted it. I finally got my orange bathroom! It's orange with rubber duckies. And I'm not kidding about the orange. Its practically Home Depot orange. Nice way to wake up in the morning. The last big project is to paint the kitchen and get the new microwave in. The kitchen is going to be yellow and white and one of my friends is helping me stencil sunflowers on the cupboard doors. I already made new curtains that are all sunflowers. Its going to be a very happy kitchen.

Its been 3 months now but back in April we saw MCR at the Fillmore in Detroit. It is officially one of my favorite concerts ever. Doesn't hurt that I absolutely love the Fillmore. There's a section above the floor but below the main balcony that is the mezzanine level. The seats there are fancy old style theater seating and they're reserved. We got tickets in the very front row center. They were perfect and the show was just awesome. In just over 2 weeks we're seeing Good Charlotte and Boys Like Girls in the same place and the same seats. Needless to say I'm crazy excited! The Fillmore needs to have season tickets ....

Man what else has been going on. I still love my job. I've been working on taking some continuing ed classes. As boring as reading about insurance is its stuff that's good to know, especially with the type of stuff I'm working on and it looks good to be doing it. Some of the knowledge has already come in handy. As boring as it is the benefits are definitely worth it.

I've been doing a lot of jewelry making. I got started in it a little bit last year and its kind of taken off. I've been selling stuff around work and to friends. A couple people who I've sold things to have told me people keep asking where they got them and how they can get one. I've decided I'm going to print up some business cards so people can have them if they want and/or pass them along. Can't hurt right? I think I'm also going to put together a website. It's been a while since I've actually had a site that had a purpose and it'll be fun to get back into it. And what better to have a website about than something I also like doing? I figure its a win-win situation and if I end up selling more that's even better. All I need now is to come up with a name/domain name. That's going to be the interesting part. Heh we'll see what I come up with!

I'm jumping subjects like crazy. Oh well goes with that whole attention span thing. I'm sure there are a bunch of things I could/should talk about but oh well, will save them for another time. For now I'm going to run off and be distracted by something else. Here's hoping I'll get back here sooner rather than later :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

HUGS FRIENDSLIST!

Had a nice surprise this morning as we were getting ready for work. We had five deer and a whole mess of wild turkeys in our back yard :) I love wild turkeys. They're so fun to watch. And the deer were only like twenty feet from the house. Pretty awesome.

2007 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
MICHIGAN STATE HOCKEY!

21 years man. It's been 21 years.
dreamtrance: (GMR)
Well it seems there happens to be a very specific new CD coming out tomorrow. It's by a band that I'm sure some of you have heard of before. I mean, I know I certainly have. And, come on, I know all of the cool shit, right? Besides, it was pointed out to me a while ago that I am, in fact, obsessed with Joel Madden. Isn't that enough.

So, yes. Good Morning Revival the newest album by none other than Good Charlotte (like you hadn't guessed that by now) is to be available in stores tomorrow. That would be Tuesday, the 27th of this third month of March. Which happens to be in just under 7 hours for those of you in the Eastern time zone. Now, I expect you all to make sure you get yourselves a copy because this is one kickin' album. I'm tellin' ya.

Though some may ask - if the album isn't out yet how do you know it's kickin'?

Well I'll tell ya. It seems that *someone* had access to said album for a little while now. Not me. Definitely not me. BUT! They went out of their way to make sure I had NO CHOICE but to listen to it. I'm talking rigging the CD player in my truck so that's all it would play, even jacking up my iPod. Seriously, extreme measures people! So, short of walking around with ear plugs 24/7 I had no choice but to listen. So, I did. I'm sorry. I gave in. BUT! Because of this I can give you the scoop.

Now, at first I was a little WOAH about this album. After listening to Chronicles so much I was a bit surprised. There do happen to be a few songs on here that stick along the lines of Chronicles but the rest of them, not so much. I, being the type of fan I am, was surprised, as I've stated, BUT I was also open minded and have come to very much appreciate this fact. What makes it the best is some of these songs are just a hell of a lot of fun. It's pretty hard to listen to this album and not feel the need to get up and dance! Or, chair dance as I like to do at work or at my desk. Not quite as effective but it works just the same. I think the best part is that within these 13 songs there's a lot of variety. If you're lookin' for good ol' rock, you've got that. If you want a dance song, you've got that. There's some crazy songs that you can't really categorize and hell, you've even got your softer chill songs. What the hell else can you ask for in an album?

So my long winded point is: GO BUY THIS ALBUM TOMORROW! 'sgood

ps. I'M IN THE LINER NOTES!!!!!!!!!!
dreamtrance: (*Joel - KYHOMG wow)
