gotta love the game
Mar. 25th, 2002 08:16 amwow fun weekend for me
my dad came out to visit this weekend
- since he had to be in Brewster NY for work (4 hours away) he came here on Sat then drove out this morning :o)
It's always different spending time with Dad vs. anyone else
Saturday we spent the afternoon playing 'fix-it' and buying new gadgets at Best Buy.
Saturday night we went to the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) game they were playing Albany. Which was great cuz my friend Steve Guolla plays for them.(* continued later *)
Then Sunday we spent all day playing computer/radio and watching movies
- and Dad made me a huge batch of the best meatloaf on the planet :o)
So I now have lots of meatloaf to last me a few weeks :oP
It was a lot of fun and I definately missed him.
On top of that I'm going home Friday for Easter - yay!!
* more about the hockey game *
My friend Steve Guolla plays for the Albany River Rats and they played Syracuse Sat night.
I knew Steve when he played for Michigan State. He was then and is now still my favorite MSU player ever. He graduated when I was a sophomore in HS. The last time I saw him was like 4 years ago when he played for Kentucky (AHL). Back in February before they played Syracuse the last time I had sent him a letter saying that I was going to be at the game and looking for him. Well I got to the game and found out that the night before he had been injured with a puck in the face and he wasnt at the game - totally bummed me out.
Well Sat night he was there and when the players came out for warmups I waited to get his attention
- wearing my MSU Guolla jersey I'm pretty hard to miss :o)
I got a big hello and then went and watched warm-ups with my dad
- he kept skating by and smiling or waving and he was telling the other players on the team he had a fanclub there - it was so cute
After the game we waited outside the locker room for him (his Brother was also there with his wife and kids)
He came out and I literally got all giddy lol I felt like I was back in HS when I totally swooned after him
It was great to see/talk to him and I even got a couple hugs and a kiss :oP
best part is I now have his phone # and when they come back to Syracuse April 6th he promised me tickets and I'll get to talk to him after - just me :o)
Lets just say I left the game with the biggest grin :o)
(even if Albany got their asses kicked 5-0)
